Need Help In S. FL
Ok folks - I need help in planning this March 13, 2004 wedding in S. Florida. We`re limited to $5000. I have the dress, veil, shoes, foundation garments already, but that`s about it. I have the florist and the photographer in mind, just not contracted yet. My biggest dilemma is the location. I`ve been racking my brain for months to find a place that`s pretty and not terribly expensive and I`m having trouble. Any opinions from other FL brides, or someone who was married in S. FL would be especially appreciated.

Exactly where in S. Florida are you looking to get married? Miami-Dade, Broward, West Palm or the Keys? You mentioned you have a $5000 budget how many persons are you looking to invite? Also are you having and indoor or outdoor wedding/reception?
These are important questions that you need to be asked and answered before you can even begin your wedding/reception location search.
Also time is of the essence...

LOL - true about the questions...I did forget to write those in the post....I`m in Miami-Dade and would look there or in Monroe County because I`m in Homestead. We`re looking at about 50 people for the ceremony and reception, so that helps with the cost I know. I realize time is crucial here. We`ve been working on this since last Nov. But the first place we looked at took forever to get me info. And then it was going to cost too much, then the next place is great, but my parents aren`t going to be able to contribute as much as we`d thought which is why we`re back to this point with 4 1/2 months to go. Ugh! LOL

Since you are so close to the Keys, why not have a beach wedding. You may rent out a public/private beach and have the wedding there. You can use very little flowers since the scenery is already beautiful and food can be found very inexpensively.

The primary problem with that is that there really aren`t beaches in the Keys. Most of the places that are beaches are part of a National Park or a hotel. That would be my ideal - a beach wedding - but that`s where I`m having the cost issues....
