Wedding Colors

I`m getting married March 13th on the West coast and I want to use red as a wedding color. Is this appropriate for March and what color can I use as a compliment?

I`m getting married that day also, but here in the east, and I am using red as an accent color, so don`t fret about it! My theme is tropical, and my girls are wearing eggplant. We`re using the red as decorative accents. Go with the red though!! Some colors that you can use with red are: cream, purple, yellow, blue....hope that helps...
