BRIDESMAIDS DILEMMA
I don`t know what to do...3 of my bridesmaids are in size 20 or larger the other 2 are size 2 and 4. They are all complaining about the gowns I pick out...What should I do?

The best advice I have for you is to STAY AWAY from bridal stores for bridesmaids dresses. Just because you are getting married and they are officially "bridesmaids" does not mean you have to purchase their dresses there. Most places are limited in size, color and design. They will also order larger sizes and you will have to pay extra for alterations.
My girls had the same problem with differences in sizes and even worse, they all lived in different parts of the U.S. We ended up purchasing dresses in the "special occasions" section of Nordstroms. If you are on a budget I would assume other department stores can offer similar services. Nordstroms searched their domestic inventory on line and located special sizes and had them shipped immediatley, directly to the girls. If your savy, you can talk them into doing the alterations at a minimum cost. They were very classy and different from the "usual" bridesmaids dresses you find.
Good luck ...

Hand over much of the choice to your bridesmaids, if you truly want to solve this & still have a happy wedding party. It`s quite common today for the bride to choose a color & length, for example, & ask her attendants to find a style that suits them w/in that color-range.
If you really feel a need to have a tighter control over the situation, you could tell them you`re retaining a "right of veto" before they purchase a gown. But, if so, make it a reasonable veto ... Not just a personal dislike of the dress.

Thank you for your help...Now I have decided to give them a designer and a color so that the die lot all comes from the same place. But the new problem is one of my bridesmaid`s needs a size 30 dress and the designer stops at 28. Do I tell her to lose 10 pounds or find another designer?

Is there no way that it can be altered? I know I got my gown and bridesmaid dresses from Alfred Angelo and they can alter a whole size as needed....if the store can`t do it, then shop around your area - there might be someone who could alter it a size. Just a thought....
