Seating

I am getting married in March 2004. The ceremony and reception are being held in the church. Our fellowship hall (where the reception will take place) is pretty large so I was planning on having...... 3 of the tables pushed together for the wedding party up front. The guests would seat 4 to a table-facing the bridal party. Will that look tacky? Shouldn`t they face the bridal party or should people be on both sides of the tables?

People should be on both sides of the table. There`s no need or reason for everyone to be facing the wedding party during the reception. There is a need however for guests to be able to socialize and converse with each other at their tables. I would also recommend more than four per table.

I agree...the guests need to socialize with one another so putting more than 4 at a table would definitely be good for that, in addition, it would give you fewer tables to decorate in the long run. Also, rather than a head table, have you thought about a sweetheart table for you and your hubby-to-be? We`re having that at ours so that we can be sure to have a few moments alone, as well as to give our attendants the opportunity to be with their significant others. Just some thoughts....
