I Want To Be An Event Planner!!

HI! I am going to The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising for Visual Communications, to be an event planner... The school is great, but I don`t feel prepared! Does anyone have any ideas or stories about how to go about getting experience in this field? Please!! Help me!

I also go to FIDM ...i found a company to internship with though wedding and event magnazines. This is the best source of knowledge i know of. Try to find a newer company so that you can actually help plan and work the events.
