Bride`s Maid`s Dresses
My wedding is going to take place in mid winter at the beach, I wanted fog and kinda overcast (I have a thing for winter at the beach) My dress will be white satin floor length halter with a simple headband across my forehead w/ veil and my husband will be in the traditional black tux as will his grooms men. The only thing we are not sure of is the color of the bride`s maids dresses, we at first condsiderd black but we didn`t think it would fit at the beach, we both very much dis-like the idea of dresses in any color, and we don`t like white either, because we don`t want them to upstage my dress, so we seem to be at a stand still. Any ideas?

I understand what you mean. I have the same problem, I hate colored dresses. I would go with a neutral color. Since it`s gonna be in the winter you can get away with fall colors like gold, silver, gray. Latte, copper or even a dark orangey color. Consider these, they will not clash with your husbands black tux or your white gown but they will still blend into the beach scenery. Hope I helped ! Good Luck !

Have you ever watched newlyweds on MTV with Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson? Well at the first it shows her wedding and her bridesmaids dresses were a light tan color! It looks very nice and natural!

Wow - I was on the boards today looking for this very topic! I hate bridesmaids dresses that look "bridesmaidy" - I really want my attendants to be able to wear their dresses again. I found a sleeveless gown in a catalog in a champagne color. I think it looks lovely but I guess I`ve been conditioned to believe champagne isn`t a good "bridesmaid" color. What does everyone think?

My bridesmaid dresses are going to be Champagne. That was my 1st choice and I should have never decided other wise. The alternate color was lavender, but I received the swatch from the designer and it was not my idea of lavender. It was too dark for the wedding. Almost like violet. I am happyyyyyyyyy that champagne is going to be the color because it is also a color you can wear to another formal gathering. Any dress from the purple family is going to be too difficult too match up with because of variances of the color. You can not go wrong with Champagne. It also gives it an elegant look. By the way my colors are
Lavender/Pearl/with Gold accents

I would go with a very light baige color. It`s a simple but elegant color to go with. Go to David`s Bridal`s web site and look at the colors they have to offer. I think it`s called eggshell. Good luck!

Hello,
Have you thought about going with a evening gown style or woman`s suit type of dress for your girls to wear? That they they would not look like the normal bride`s maids` dresses? Seeing a picture of your dress would help out with ideas for your girls dress. As for colors a champagne, softer brown coloring or even maybe a soft gray color might be a good way to go. If I can help in any way, email me at angwillard@yahoo.com
Have fun..:)

I know exactly what you mean about not wanting the colour of the bridesmaids dresses to stand out - I`m having a forest theme wedding and have chosen a sage green to blend in. Why not go with a beigy, tan colour - that would blend in with the sand nicely and not upstage your dress - Good luck!!!
