My son is getting married next October and I would like some ideas for a centerpiece. They were thinking of punkins as a centerpiece. Help....

Fruit or vegetable filled cornicopias are nice for that time of year. Real or artificial....your guests can enjoy eating the fruit if it is real...just a thought.

Hello,
There are many things you can do for centerpieces with a fall wedding. Just depends on what look you are wanting. Besides pumkins you could use gords, wheat, fruit like apples and pears, cattails, wheat, leaves, and other fall stuff besides using fall colored flowers. Candles always give a nice look also. What size are the tables going to be? Are they round or rectangle? How many tables are you planning to have? Are you wanting the same arrangement on all tables? If I can be of any help please feel free to email me at angwillad@yahoo.com

Have you thought of using the oval shape pumpkins as a vase. Have someone carve a bride and groom on the side you can either put a candle on the inside or put silk fall flowers. You don`t need a jack o lantern. Your florist may even be able to help you if you do not want to to do it yourself.

You can also use the tall tower (or inexpensive pedestal) type holders and use newly fallen or turned leaves at the top and add to that fall mums (they are VERY long lasting).

If they really want pumpkins, you can always dress the pumpkins up with a vine wreath which you can adorn with flowers or leaves in the wedding colors. I did something like that for a bride I talked to at a craft store!

Very inexpensive, and very lovely:
Buy pumpkins in all different sizes, and spray paint them gold. You can also spray paint baskets gold and fill them with fruit, candles, and fall flowers. Also, gather leaves of all shapes and sizes, and "gild" them also by spray painting them gold. These can be scattered on the tables. The candlelight really makes them shimmer. This looks absolutely beautiful!

I just got married in October, and my centerpieces were under $5 per table! We took cylindrical glass vases and filled them with unpopped popcorn, then rested a seasonal candle on the top. I then tied raffia around the cylinder, and people loved them. I let everyone take them home for their Thanksgiving table...we did 3 per table of various sizes and just used a 50lb bag of popcorn from Costco to fill the vases. I can send you a link if you`re interested...very harvesty - fall - seasonal looking!

If your using long rectanglular tables you could use white pumpkins in different smaller sizes with white tulle and mini twinkle lights down the centre (like a runner). My sister did this for her wedding last October and it looked really pretty, kind of Cinderella-like!

Pumpkin centerpieces is absolutely gorgeous. I`m getting married next October 30, 2004 and I wanted to have a pumpkin filled with fall colored flowers. My florist showed me an actual arrangement he did and they were stunning. He did not recommend I do this only because my wedding is indoors. He said it was more appropriate for an outdoor wedding. I decided to go with the fall color floral arrangements with ivory candles for a bit more of an elegant look. I will be using carved out pumpkins to place around the buffet display. Good luck.

Hello,
Depending on what their theme is pumpkins could be nicely worked in as floral center pieces. Add some leaves and candles along with some curly willow and it would look very country..:)
I would not recommend any one just plop a pumkin down on the table and say done...yuck

Go to www.hsn.com and look at their halloween decorations, they have these faux pumpkin that you can carve, they also sell them at Michael`s craft stores and other craft stores. But the picture on the HSN website gives you an idea of what you could carve and they have some that are monogrammed with a battery operated candle or you can use neon glow sticks with out the hassle or extra cost of batteries.
