Marring Young
I am 19 years old and a freshman in college. I`ve been with my boyfriend, who is 21, for 9 months now and we have just started talking about marriage. We are talking about a date this summer, and I was just wondering everyone`s opinion on getting married at the young age of 19.

Hi Misty,
I was looking around for information for one of my college classes for a speech on early marriages, and this web site popped up, where I saw your post. I am 19 as well and I have been married for one and a half years now. We were engaged for almost 2 years, so yes that means I was engaged at the age 16 and married at 18. Marriage is a big move in life, but it can make your life feel so much complete if you know you can see yourself be married to your boyfriend for the rest of your life. It shouldn’t be someone, like me to be able to tell you if it’s right or not to marry someone who you love in and out. I know this may sound cheesy, but it’s so true. I wouldn’t trade the world if that means I didn’t have my husband. Our family was very supportive with what we decided. I just have one advice for you is that love grows with time, and has been shown that marriages that were engaged or together for 2-3 years have been more likely to stay married longer then people that were together 5 months and then got married. But some people are different, the main thing is no matter how long you known them if you know the person inside and out, from death do you part is really the only thing that matters!...Good Luck and God Bless
