Blotchy Skin--Help!
Hi! I am getting married this August on a beach in Southern California. I am a little worried because whenever I get extremely nervous, my chest and neck get a little blotchy. My dress shows both areas. Does anyone have any advice as to what to do? Is there something I can take or put on my skin to prevent this from happening? Does anyone else have this same problem? Any advice would be great. Thanks! =o)

Hi all! I`m 30 years old and I`m starting to break out in these red hives on my neck and chest when I`m nervous or excited or could just be talking to someone and feel it coming on. My neck gets a hot feeling and boy I know its coming! I can feel the adrinaline rush so I didnt know if its caused by anxiety, stress or what. My brother took Inderal for high blood pressure and said it made him sleepy. Is there anything else out there that someone has tried besides Inderal or Valium? I`m just want this embarrasing problem to go away!!
Can anyone help?

Hi. I stumbled upon this site earlier today, and can’t believes what I’m reading. It almost makes me want to cry to know that there are other people out there that struggle with the same thing I do. All this time I thought I was the only weirdo in the world with this condition. There’s no way to explain how debilitating this condition is to people who don’t suffer from it. After being with my boyfriend (now fiancé) for 3 years I finally got the courage up to talk to him about it after getting extremely upset about one of those "oh my god, what’s wrong with your neck" situations, his response was "what’s the big deal?". I have always said that I would do anything or pay any amount of money to make this go away. I currently go to the tanning bed almost every day because the splotchiness isn’t as apparent when I am tanner, and I know it`s bad for me, but I just don’t know what else to do. I am getting married next month (July) and I am not about to wear a long sleeve / turtleneck wedding dress (if they even make those) in July. My wedding dress is strapless and believe it or not, the thing I am more nervous about than anything concerning my wedding is breaking out with the splotches.
Anyway, after stumbling upon this sight earlier today and reading about the success that many people are having with Inderal, I made an appointment with my doctor right away, and he was actually able to fit me in today. He said he had never heard of treating the splotchiness with Inderal but he didn’t mind giving it a try. I can’t wait to see if it works. If it does my prayers have been answered.
Having this problem has kept me from so much in my life. Being able to share my feelings with others who understand really means a lot to me.
Thanks.
PS - To the people who keep saying it might be Rosacea...it`s not.

I as well have this problem with red, blotchy skin. I get it when I`m nervous, change in room temperature, when I talk to someone on phone or in person who I don`t know, when I drink alcohol etc. It happens at the oddest times, and it is very embarassing. I had someone once tell me that it shows a lack of confidence, b/c I get blotchy and red. I was completely offended by this and I would love to get rid of it.
I am getting married next Oct. And I have been on a search for a cure for awhile. Thanks for your advice on the inderal and Valium. Do they work? Any side effects?
