David`s Bridal

My future daughter-in-law has been to 5 fittings at David`s Bridal in the East Bay (Cal.) and is STILL iwaiting for the dress to be altered correctly. The seamstresses don`t have a clue, and the manager told her, in front of other customers, that if she was going to buy a cheap dress, you would have problems. They also ordered the wrong size to be altered, then told her to stuff her bra in order for the bodice to fit correctly - They were supposed to remove the shoulder straps, and tighten the bodice, instead they sewed along the length of the side seams, from under the arms right up to the waist, so naturally it was far too tight. We are absolutely going to take this matter further, and hope that anyone who has like problems, simply won`t allow D`s B. To get away with this very bad service. She has been through a lot of heartache with the dress (starting from August until now) and is going to Brazil in 3 weeks time for the wedding - still unsure of her dress. I am totally disgusted and we WILL do whatever it takes to correct this situation. Enough is Enough!!!! Kay.

Which David`s in east bay she went to is it the one in milpitas? I had an appointment in august with them and I felt liked I was forced to place an order on a wedding dress that I tried on by the employee`s over there and they told me it takes 4-5months for the dress to come and 2 months for alterations. My wedding is not until next year sept and now they called me that the dress is already at their store it`s only been a 2 months and I`m still trying to loose wait I hope they can alter it good if ever.

To respond to the query about which David`s Bridal in the East Bay - it is the one in Pinole. My daughter has tried to contact their corporate offices, but you have to leave a message only. However, she did leave a message that we will be taking it further. I think it is about time (after seeing all the complaints country-wide) that SOMETHING is done. Every bride deserves the very best dress that she can afford.

Hello. Just wondered if you`d heard a response from David`s Bridal corporate yet. I just had a very similar experience here in southern california. My wedding was Jan. 24 and I am now trying to contact corporate as well. Any luck?

Im amazed at the number of problem`s world wide with this store. Im only a brides maid and Im having problems. Not only have they lost my dress the sales associate has given me an additude for making sure the problem is getting fixed. They didnt even bother to inform the bride the dress`s were in for pick up. I hope that someone has luck with getting the right people to listen becuase it has got to change. They want way to much money to be treating the customers like dirt. Im dealing with a store in upstate NY.

In regards to the first letter, if you have been there 5 times and it sitll isnt right it seems that you would stop wasting money and go to a seamtress that would to the job right the first time. Or thats the way it would seem to me.

I agree davids bridal where i live is horrendus!
I went in with friends just to look and because at the time i did not have a date set we were treated very rudely. And told not to touch the dresses without a consultant.
Well i recieved a very expensive diamond from my wonderful mate at christmas so my friends and i went back in...my stars i had four sales associates and a consultant at my beckon call.
My friend talked me into trying on an oleg cassini gown although pretty it was also 1400.00, the woman ensnared me into one of the most painful neoprene bra things that pretty much could of taken out my rib cage and left me breathless
She then stuck a 139.00 tiara and a disgusting looking viel on ,my head that looked absolutley rediculous.i was to say the least not impressed. The dress just happened to be the only size 8 on hand....she wanted me to try on other dresses, but after i saw the filthy gowns that were hanging on the racks i am really glad i do not have to depend on that place. I chose to make my own, and at least i know it is clean and fits and i do not have to be forced in to wearing an uncomfortable girdle bra thing under it. God luck ladies i too have filed a complaint against them!!!

Hi jennifer, nope i haven`t been to that one. I live in Utica, so syracuse was closer but we went to albany. I went twice, once over a year ago and the woman was waaaaaay too pushy for me. And we ended up moving the date and when i went back in September last year the woman i had was great. She had a few diff people and she divided her attention wonderfully.

My Oleg Cassini gown that I found at David`s Bridal is breathtaking. Beautiful. Couldn`t have gotten anywhere for the rockbottom price that David`s was selling it for.

My sister is currently going through a rough time with David`s Bridal and I would like to contact their corporate office to get this resolved....quickly! Can you provide the coporate office phone number so that I can also begin my dealings with them?

Anyone thinking of using the East Brunswick, NJ location should think again! The service is horrible, particularly the saleswoman who refuses to admit she recognizes my family after spending considerable time helping with the dress and accessory selection.

I have been in 5 weddings. 3 of the brides used Davids Bridal-Great Northern Ohio and all 3 experiences were a horrible mess.

I TELL EVERYONE I KNOW THAT EVEN THINKS OF THEM TO RUN FAR AWAY! I think it is a company wide problem. I know many people who have also had run ins. Bad customer service, horrible tailoring, and just all together bad experiences.

I don`t care how much money thay MAY be able to save you...the terrible service, RUDE salespeople, and amatuer tailoring will bring you months and months if not years and years of regret.

I feel so sorry for the bride. I wish you lots of luck!

Ahh...Now I`m scared. I have heard people complain about David`s Bridal. I was going to buy my dress there. I might need to reconsider I guess. That is terrible. This is supposed to be a couples happiest day of there life and you`d think that Bridal shops would care about that!

Thank you for wishing us luck. I am happy to report that we finally picked the wedding gown after months and months of confusion - the dress was lost in the store since July. My saga ended after I contacted the corporate customer service department and spoke with an extremely helpful woman. The staff at DB of East Brunswick now hates me but as long as the dress is at the house I don`t really care what they think. If anyone has bought a dress from this location, take it and RUN!

While I have not been to a David`s Bridal, I have looked at their collection online. I was not impressed with the dresses or the prices. Ladies who are in the market for a dress right now, pay attention! The dresses at David`s Bridal are NOT cheaper than buying a designer gown. In fact if you shop around you will find that many designer gowns are in fact CHEAPER than David`s Bridal gowns and yet they are of such higher quality. Case in point, I bought a used dress off of ebay, it is a dress from David`s Bridal and it is basically a rip-off of a Maggie Sottero dress. I only paid $100 for it on ebay but the original owner paid $800 for it from David`s Bridal (I know she is not making up that price b/c i saw it on David`s website which is why I decided to stay away from them). Now tell me, why on earth would you pay $800 for a knock-off when you can get a better, Designer-name (I`m talking about a real Maggie Sottero) for way less than that price! The dress I got is very similar to the Maggie Sottero Jill which I found available online for $350 and similar to the Maggie Sottero Dion which I found at a bridal store for about $600. So ladies, don`t think that just because you are on a budget you have to put yourself through the pain of David`s Bridal. Often times their prices are not any lower than the prices at real Bridal Salons. The only way you really are going to get a good deal at David`s is if you buy a dress from their $99 sale and you take it with you right then (based on the overwhelming number of horror stories one would be wise to NEVER get alterations done at David`s). You CAN get a dress for under $1000 at regular bridal salons, heck you can get one for under $600, you just have to look.

I bought my dress from davids bridal. I have it at home now, but it didnt get it without difficulties. I special ordered my dress, which I had to pay for in full. I waited a month and when I saw the dress, it had a snag and a black line on it. The manager claimed the dress only needed to be ironed and cleaned, and was very rude about it. She insisted I show her the places I was talking about "because they are soooo small" and claimed "I cant see them they are soooo small" She made it seem like I was a bridezilla, when I insisted she order me a new one. I dont think that expecting a beautifull dress for my wedding is too much to ask for. Two months after that I finally got my dress, but only after I called to ask for it. They claimed they had just got it in, which I though was suspicious. Luckily this time my dress was just the way I wanted it. All is well now that I dont have to deal with them. Everybody be careful when shopping at davids bridal.

Hi i also recieved terrible service from davids bridal the pinole california store to be specific. To make my long story short i went in with a appointment and no one could help so a lady named karen stayed past her shift to help me and my brides maids she was the only pleasant part of my whole entire expirience with them, anyways we ordered them and she said that 2 of the 3 dresses would be in 2 weeks later and the 3rd would take the whole 6 weeks which these times would have been fine because the only alteration would be on one of the 2 week dresses. Well as the weeks passed and no dresses i obviously became more and more panicked i spoke with both of the managers at the location numerous times, they would tell me a date of arrival then that day would come and they would give me a new date of arrival. I finally ended up with my dresses THE NIGHT BEFORE MY WEDDING so instead of having the girls over do have fun the night before my wedding i am driving out to pinole to get a last minute alteration which by the way they charged me for they did however comp the "last minute fee" . So once the dresses we finally in my hands i got the corporate # and address and mailed a nasty very detailed letter of my encounter and sent by fed ex so i could see whn exactly they recieved it and how long it would take for the corporate office to contact me well no surprise to me it took over a week before the lady finanally contacted me, now we have been playing phone tag for over a month so for the 2nd time i left a message for her to call my cell phone so now im just waiting again. Did i meantion i hate davids bridal?? !!!!!!!
