Picking a color for your wedding really depends on a few things. 1. What sort of personal preferences you have (ie, you like bright colors or you like pastels) 2. What sort of venue you are having your event at 3. The time of year.

Ok, so we know the time of year -- June. Very nice choice...you have many options. You can do just about anything you`d like (although I`d stay away from burgendy, dark green, rust, silver etc.....that`s just my opinion though)

Some colors I`ve seen at summer weddings and found to be very attractive:

Champage with cream accents (gorgeous for summer weddings)
Royal blue or a lighter color blue
Kelly Green or sage green
Bright pink (aka fushia)
Yellow
Lavendar
Pink (can be pulled off, but not my favorite -- then again, it`s not my wedding either...)
Dark purple (very nice choice)
Red (iffy, but can work)
Peach (be careful chosing this color because some are pretty and some are not so nice)
Teal

Anyways, those are just my thoughts -- you may also want to check with your florist to decide what kinds of flowers you`re going to want and then maybe chose your BM`s dresses after that. Just a thought.

Good luck.

I agree with Kay, alot of it depends on your personal style and where you wedding is being held, the formality of your wedding, and whether it is day or night.

If you are getting married where it will be hot, how about a lemonade theme? Choose a palette of yellow, green, and cream. You can serve lemon-drop martinis during the cocktail hour, your bridesmaids can be either in pale yellow or light sage green dresses, and your centerpieces can have fruit accents of lemons and limes with flowers. You could even have lemon-flavored cake!

I`m getting married in June 2004 too. I`ve chosen an apple red (just because it`s one of my favorite colors) and balanced it with a cream/ivory. (It also runs well with the Chinese theme I`m having).

I think it`s totally up to you and what your tastes / themes are... Most colors work well for those summer months... If done right, you could make most any color work (my cousin had a June wedding and she used a deep plum... Even though that`s more of a "fall/autumn" color, her wedding was still beautiful)... You`re guests are there to celebrate your special day. Pick the colors you`d have fun with and would think go well with your venue.

I am also getting married in June...and I have chosen Sage green and Peach with ivory...since my dress is ivory. I think that they all compliment each other well when put together! Best wishes!

Hi! I`m getting married in June 2005 - we are very newly engaged, but are already beginning to make decisions about our wedding early (to alleve the stress later on). I also don`t know what colors would work. We are having an afternoon wedding, to get an idea, but I have always liked the colors dark green and cream. Do you think that this would be too dark (or fall oriented) to have at a summer wedding? Thanks for all your opinions and help!!!

I`m getting married in June as well, our colors are different shades of blue (light & dark) and silver! - Good luck choosing colors, My advice would be to choose your favorite color, after all a wedding is supposed to reflect the bride and groom :)

I am getting married in June 2005(probably,not sure yet because I just got engaged 2/14/04). My favorite colors are dark (burgundy, hunter green, navy blue, etc.)...Actually my very favorite color is Hunter Green. Do I need to move away from dark colors??

You could choose a basic color that is easy to work with. Like red or navy blue. A color like "sage green" or "mint" is going to be more difficult to get good matches on, when it comes to coordinating bridesmaid dresses with shoes, etc.

Powdery pastels are not really in fashion these days for weddings. Except for pink. Pink became popular after the Trista and Ryan wedding t.v. Show. Lilac is also popular right now.

A lot of subtle colors, like pale grey, a light mocha brown, ivory, ecru, or blush are really popular. .

Peach and fuschia belong in the 1980`s. - these are too loud and just awful.
