Mom And Dad`s 50th Wedding Anniversary

My parents live in Matteson, IL. (Chicago south suburbs). I live in Champaign IL which is about 120 miles south of them. My parents are expecting me to throw a party for them. I`m an extremely busy working mom, and am expected to put this together myself. My siblings are of no help and neither is mom. They won`t even help me pick out a place. I`m totally out of touch with the area because I`ve been gone for 12 years. Can someone give me a clue on how to get this done? My budget is around $1000. Thanks.

What if you threw the party at or near your place and got one of your family members to drive them up for the special event - rent them a hotel room for the night to stay at and enjoy an extended evening for their special day??? that way you don`t have to do everything long distance
