NAME CHANGE AFTER DIVORCE
Does anyone know the law or procedure about changing your name after a divorce. To make a long story short, I just found out that my fiance`s ex wife still goes by his last name. They have been divorced for over 3 years. This is not something that is automatically done when you get a divorce? I know I shouldn`t let it bother me, but still aggravating. Can she just keep his name forever? To make the situation even stranger she has a serous boyfriend with whom she has a kid. Does anyone know anything about this, or have any advice?
Thanks in advance.

Wow! this subject has bothered me for quite some time.. It is so frustrating to know that "another wife" has the last name that I would like to take.. Yes they have kids, but I am sorry that is no excuse. .. I have seen many other cases where the woman goes back to her maiden name and the kids keep the father`s last name, people in my own family have done this - it does not hinder their identity. I just feel like she is being spiteful and keeping it on purpose.. Yes they were together for a long time, but only married for 4 years....
I am also divorced and one of the first things I did was change my name back... I feel like it is almost a disrespect to your own family and the confidence in your own identity to not change your name back after divorce.....
