Wedding Help!

I am recently engaged and i have no idea what i got myself into! i live in reseda ca. I don`t have the slightest clue where to start. We don`t have a lot of money but we want to get married next year. Were not looking for anything extravagant (seeing as how its not in our budget) but our parents want us to have a reception.
Does anyone have any ideas?
