Decided To Elope

My Fiancee and I have been planning our wedding for just over a year. We are 1 month away and due to various circumstances we have decided to cancel the "big hoopla" and just elope. Invitations have been sent and responses are back. We have already ordered cards for the guests stating the changes of plans with apologies. My question is what do I do with the shower gifts from my shower that was only 2 weeks ago. Do we send them back or keep them? Also how do we handle ticked off friends and family?
