April Colors

I have often dreamed of a winter wedding with shades of red, green, and white. Unfortunately, due to a variety of reasons, it looks like my wedding will be in the spring (late April or very early May). I am NOT a fan of having pastels at my wedding; I know too many people who have used them. Besides, my maid of honor often looks washed out in lighter colors. Is there anyway I can work shades of my dream colors into my big day? I don`t want it to look like Christmas in the spring, and I don`t want the greens looking like they`re out of the 1970s either.
