Wedding Venue In Chicago

Hi! Does anyone know of a nice place I can have my wedding at? I`m looking for an outdoor ceremony and a tent reception in the Chicagoland area.

Thanks!

My fiance and I are getting married next October in Valparaiso. At our hall you can have an outdoor ceremony, but no tent. But the hall is beautiful, if you are willing to give up the tent let me know.

Can you narrow down Chicagoland area? What `burb do you and your fiance live in? That would help since the Chicagoland area is quite large!

The Wyndham in Itasca has a really nice tent for receptions. There`s also a place in Hoffman Estates called The Stonegate. I believe they have a tent now as well. They`re both BEAUTIFUL places, but are pretty expensive. I went the Country Club route.

There`s plenty of places in Chicagoland that now offer "tents" for receptions, but they are pricy. In addition to the Wyndham Itasca and Stonegate, there`s also the Marriott Schaumburg, Marriott Lincolnshire, Hyatt Woodfield -- these are ones we saw before my fiance`s parents said it wasn`t a good idea for us (because in the Chinese culture, the white "walls" & "ceiling" symbolized funerals... Definitely did not want that at our wedding). Just so you know, most of these are "year round" tents... They have heating & a/c which is good in case the weather isn`t. Wyndham Itasca books up fast and their minimum is $$$.

You might also want to look at the Botanical Gardens or Independence Grove in Libertyville (other areas we considered).

Another idea is to have it at one of the many area golf clubs or museums (yup, they have set-ups for outdoor tent parties... Check out the Museum of Science & Industry).

Hope this helps...

Last weekend we attended a wedding at The Hyatt Lodge in Oakbrook. It is on the McDonald office campus. It is where Tiger Woods and all the golfers stay when they are in town for the Western Open.Until a few years ago it was private. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. Her ceremony was near a pond, she walked under a bridge to meet her husband. Here in the midwest the leaves are absolutely beautiful right now. We had cocktails outside but then we moved in for dinner. The room had 3 walls of floor to ceiling windows....beautiful, beautful, beautiful. I would say if you are anywhere in the area, just go and look. It was breathtaking!
