MOM WONT WEAR A DRESS
My mother refuses to wear a dress or gown to the wedding, she wants to wear a pantsuit ,is this an ok thing to do for a wedding being the mother of the bride?

Absolutely. Although a lot of MOBs do wear dresses I don`t see anything wrong with a MOB wanting to wear a pantsuit. I`m sure she will look great even if she`s not in a dress. If pants is what she is comfortable in, then I think that`s a good choice.

My mom`s friend`s daughter made her mom wear these horrific 2 inch heels for the ceremony. Her mom had never worn heels in her life. She reluctantly agreed with the understanding that at the reception she would wear "normal" shoes. In the end, no one noticed the MOB`s shoes, of course all the attention is focused on the bride! If your mom is comfortable in a pants-suit, then let her be. I`m sure she`ll pick out something very stylish and a bit formal as well...maybe you two can go shopping together around the holidays when the stores have all their "party" clothes out for holiday parties? Pants suits paired with a great pair of heels can be just as formal as a dress.

There are plenty of very dressy, elegant pants suits. I`m sure she`ll find a gorgeous one and be a stunning mother of the bride. Go help her shop for one! It`ll be fun!

I totally agree with the other posts. I`m getting married Oct. 8, 2004 and my mom is wearing a pant suit too. She just does not feel comfortable in a dress. I refuse to make her miserable by making her wear a dress.
Best Wishes!
