David`s Bridal
I recently had the misfortune of entering the David`s Bridal in Maple Grove, Minnesota. My niece, who is a larger person(the Bride)was ridiculed by the sales people. They tried the old switcheroo on her, when she went to pick up her dress, they had an old rag there they wanted her to take, at $700.00, I didn`t think so and this was the manager pushing this. Thank God, she started bawling and I started screaming and chased quite a few customers out before we got satisfaction. Wish we would have seen these messages prior to that experience.

Yes we also had problems with David`s Bridal. My step daughter who got married last October had all kinds of problems with david`s bridal. Her brides maids dresses they ordered the wrong tops and sizes. Some of the girls had the wrong bottoms. I purchased my dress there also and I had went for my fittings when I went to go pick it up the day before the wedding I went to put it on and they never did any hemming on my dress I a paid for it. With all the problems my step daughter did receive some stuff from them for free for all the problems we had. I wouldn`t go there again to buy anything.

Wow, I can see how much the different some of the stores are. I myself have been to 2 differents stores. 1 had horrible service and I left and never bought anything there again and but I had went into another before I had had the problems so I went back to the the first store and I have had wonderful service since. I have been there multipul times and everyone has beem so nice to me. I went in during the week one time and there were no other customers and all of the attendants helped me and if I said I needed anything they were right there with it. Then even when other girls started to come in the attendants helped everyone. My maid of honor was with me and wasnt planning on trying on gowns when we first got there but half way through changed her mind and they were more than accomidating. I have gotten a congratulations card from the store saying congratulations on becoming engaged, and thank you for choosing that specific Davids Bridal.
My cousin got engaged and had went to the horrible store, and never got a card. We got our gowns but they didn`t seem to care. Thank God I live closer to the great store.

Joyce, I am so sorry that you had a bad experience with David`s Bridal -- although I`m not surprised as everyone does! I too had a horrible experience at Mpls metro-area Davids (I went to the one in Richfield on 494 and Lyndale) and was appauled at how I was treated. I was so stunned that I simply walked out with my mouth dropped to my feet.
I am a pretty outspoken person who isn`t usually left speechless -- but the way I was treated at the Richfield David`s was simply hideous!
Hopefully you don`t have anything else on order with them -- if you do, cancel it. I ended up getting my gown, my BM`s gowns, tiara, and veil all at a salon in West St. Paul -- Napier Bridal and they were simply fantastic! If you need any more bridal items -- go to them! They are knowledgable, professional, and most of all - caring. The woman who owns it is Sharon -- and she`s super.
The day I went to Napier to try on gowns I had called ahead and described the style I was looking for -- they were actually closing in 10 minutes but said "no problem, we`ll stay open for you." Sure enogh, I got there 15 minutes later -- they had pulled 10 dresses in the exact style I had described and the 7th dress I tried on was "the one." They never hurried me, they offered their professional opinions - and were the epitome of the honest, ethical, moral bridal salon. The day after they helped me pick out my viel, tiara, and BM`s dresses.
I hope everything turns out ok for your niece and I`m so sorry that they treated her so poorly -- that is unacceptable. Check out Napier though, they are great.
