If Not David`s...then Where??

I`ve read so many bad things about David`s Bridal that I am really afraid to go!! I do not want to spend a ton of money on a formal dress, and prior to a month ago was planning on wearing a simple sundress (it`s a beach wedding). But I`d like to explore the simple dress options, without paying a hefty price. Does anyone have any other suggestions as to where to find inexpensive dressses? I`d rather not try the Ebay route, as I know the strange sizings could be an issue.

Please advise!

Pretty much any dress you want can be ordered on-line from any store. One of the more popular ones that people talk about is Pearls Place and I believe it`s down south someplace.

Since you idicated you are looking for something a bit less formal for a beach wedding you don`t even necessarily have to go to a bridal salon. A nice department store would also work: Bloomingdales, Macy`s, Nordstroms, Marshall Fields.

I`d check online and find out what the different companies return policies are as you are worried about sizing (can`t say I blame you there!). If not, check out some nicer department stores and see what they have to offer.

Good luck and be glad you aren`t risking your big day with David`s Bridal!

I`m not sure where you live, but there are a lot of other stores out there. I bought my dress at Alfred Angelo, and it was on sale. Another option is to go with a white bridesmaid style dress if you want something simple. I know at Alfred Angelo the most expensive bridesmaids dress is about $150 rather than more for a "wedding" dress. Another option is Jessica McClintock or other similar places that sell formal gowns. Feel free to e-mail me if you want other suggestions. Canelaw99@aol.com
