Joy, what are you doing for favors? Also, are you doing anything `wintery` for the ceremony programs?
Just curious as I too am having a winter wonderland wedding this December and am struggling with the above mentioned items. Any suggestions would be helpful!

Kay,
The programs i am printing on a bright white card stock stock with a snowflake velllum overlay its really pretty and im tying them with a silver bow. The ceremony i am getting pew bows made with dangling snowflakes and white marabow feathers and im going to have lots of candles all around the church. My flower girl is going to throw fake snow and white rose petals. My favors i decided to give something that when people used it they would be reminded of my winter wedding and that would be ice cream scoops lol. What are your accents colors? mine are mostly white with splashes of deep purple and silver. My girls in the bridal party are wearing dark purple velvet dresses with faux fur wraps and my flower girl is wearing dark purple and almost a silver and im having a white velvet cape with faux fur made fof her. Im also having a coat made to go over my dress in white velvet with faux fur. There not as expensive to have made as you might think and there so much nicer then the ones that they have in stores that i have seen. Im also having my tiara made with snowflakes and ice crystals. If there is any other ideas i can give let me know.

I`m having a "winter wonderland" wedding in January 2004. My bridesmaids are wearing navy and my maid of honor is wearing silver. For my centerpieces I`m using branches that look like they have ice crystals on them that I found at a local craft store. I`m still looking for ideas for my cake and my favors if anyone has any suggestions!

Joy, your wedding sounds gorgeous. Thanks for the ideas for the programs -- I`ve been struggling with how I want them to look for quite some time. I like the idea of the velum over the top with a silver bow. Fantastic!
Also, it sounds like your bridesmaid`s dresses are gorgeous! I love the idea of a dark velvet color -- it will be stunning! The icecream scoop idea is so cute -- I love it!
My bridesmaids are wearing silver dresses -- they are gorgeous and my florist is doing a lot with holly, berries, and deep greens with lots of silver accents. The things she`s shown me so far are exqusite. She`s incorporating leaves (sprayed silver) and christmas bulbs (silver also) into the bouquets.
I found these amazing structures for my centerpieces and don`t even know how to describe them. I should scan them into the computer and I could email them to you.
I too am having a cape made. One of my employees is a fantastic seamstress so I bought a pattern and she`s making it. You`re right, it`s really not that expensive and the finished product is way better than what you can purchase in a store (and much less expensive). My cape also has the white soft material on the outside, but the inner lining is a silver that matches the bridesmaids dresses and it`s all fur trimmed. I really love it!

Check your email as I will be sending you a picture of the cake (it`s a jpg file so it`s kinda big) and I`ll answer your questions.
Thanks!

Hi Kay,
I`d love to see the cake! My email address is Sarah1426@hotmail.com. If anyone else has any pictures I`d love to see them to get some more ideas!
We probably saved around $2000 dollars by having a Jan. Wedding. Almost all of our vendors gave us big discounts, and our ceremony & reception site were half off!

Our wedding is on Jan. 16th. It`s a Friday night, which was another way we saved a lot of money! I can`t believe how fast it is coming! Do you have everything ready?

Joy,
We got engaged last Christmas (I was completely surprised).
I`m carrying a simple bouquet of white roses and calla lilies and my bridesmaids are carrying dark burgundy roses. How about you? I had a really hard time deciding on flowers! My flower girls are throwing fake snow and glitter, which helped save money.
Our wedding is at an old theater from the 40`s in Cincinnati and we are basically allowed to do whatever we want. I`d like to come up with something other than a traditional white aisle runner....any suggestions? I`m afraid the snow will not be seen on the white aisle runner.
Can you send me a pic of the cake? My email is Sarah1426@hotmail.com

Sarah,
I sent you kays cake. I think you should make an aisle runner in your accent color so that the petals and glitter will show up. I think that would look nice and come out really nice on video and in photos. My flowers were pretty hard to choose as well. I am having lavender lisiathis and purple lisathis for the girls and all white glemilias for me. My flower girl is carrying a little version of the bridesmaids bouquet and also throwing fake snow and snowflakes. If you dont already have your ring pillow i know a woman that has a store on ebay that makes beautiful ring pillows with snowflakes and trimmed with marabout feathers

Elizabeth,
What is your date? what are your accents colors? do you have anything deco in mind yet? i like the bright white concept that is what im doing with a lot of white birch trees they arent that expensive and if you cant find them in white you can always spray paint them. You can put on them in paper maiche pots or get cheap pots from a garden store and paint them. I have a bunch of twinkle lights that are battery operated that i purchased and didnt need. I have like 60 sets and they have 10 lights on each string. The cords are white so they wont show. If your interested in them or anyone else please let me know. Im looking to rid of them cheap i need the space lol.

Joy,
I am interested in the light sets that you have. I, too, am having a Winter Wonderland Wedding in Jan. 2004. We are getting married on New Year`s Day at 4:00 pm. I am planning on lots of candles for the ceremony and lots of tulle and lights for the reception area.

Joy,
I too am having a winter themed wedding on February 8th, 2004. If you still want to unload some of those battery-operated lights, I`d be glad to take them off your hands! I`m doing half tall centerpieces and half short ones, with a variety of white flowers including hydrangeas and football mums that look like snowballs! Both versions have silver and white twigs that are coming out of them, and I think it would be a nice touch to have some glowing light in the centerpiece itself. Please let me know if you still want to "unload" the lights! you can e-mail me at atzavos@nmh.org. Thanks! Oh, and I forgot who was incorporating a navy color, but that`s what I`m doing and there is this great little berry that can be found in the winter called privet berry. There are clusters of them on small branches and they are a deep navy color, they look great against a contrast of white/off-white! Just a suggestion.
