Off-White?? White Or Ivory Accessories????
I read in a Bridal guide that if I have an off-white dress that I need to make sure that I won`t look "dirty-white" in pictures..so the guys need to have off-white shirts ect...but does that apply for unity candles, guest book, baloons,..stuff like that....what about my flower girl?..you usually find white or a darker ivory...I just don`t know which way to go...my dress really looks more white then it does Ivory..you can`t even really tell it`s off-white unless it is directly up against the dress...I just don`t want the wedding to look tacky...I don`t want people to see a mixture of ivory and white...not much comes in an off white color..but then again more things aren`t pure white...HELP!!! HELP!!!

My dress is champagne and I am using ivory for my decorations, cake, unity candle, everything that I can get. I have had some problems getting things that I like in ivory, so I have made them myself. But this is a personal choice.
I think since is hard to tell that your dress is off white, then do not worry about mixing them, or go all white . I am sure our guests are not going to be making sure everything matches, but it matters to me too.
Good luck!

Aubri,
Since your dress is Ivory - yes, the groomsmen and the accessories should also be Ivory. The stark whiteness of their shirts (if you were to go with white) would make your dress look very non-white and it may not look as you`d like.
My friend made the mistake of getting an Ivory dress and had white everything-else and it did not look good. It made her dress look dingy.
So, I`d have to agree with the Bridal Guide -- go with everything Ivory.
Good luck!

Kay-
But the dress doesn`t look ivory..it`s sooo light that when I picked it up from the sore I swore they had ordered me the wrong color..I thought it was white..I`ll do what the bridal guide said and make sure that everything that would be directly in contact with me is off-white (guys shirts for example) but when I have an Ivory guest book..people are going to wonder why I`m mixing the white and ivory at my wedding...I don`t know...I really whish I would have just gone pure white or gotten a dress that actually looked like it was Ivory...

Aubri, if you are worried about the color (and I totally understand how that is -- I have a `diamond white` dress that I can`t tell the difference between a `real white`) -- ask for a swatch of the dress material and bring it to stores to compare against the guest book, groomsmen shirts, etc.
White, diamond white, ivory, off-white, antique white, etc all can be confused. Also each manufacturer of dresses have a different version of these colors and some are way different.
To ease your mind, I`d do a direct comparison!
Good luck and I hope your day turns out to be perfect!

Just a note--good tip on the ivory/white shirt thing; hadn`t thought of that. But as for people wondering why you`re mixing ivory and white...no one is going ot wonder that. No one is going to have one recollection of stuff like that. They`re going to remember how happy you were, maybe what they ate, and maybe if they danced or not. That`s it! Enjoy and quit worrying about stuff like that.

The men should NOT wear off white shirts. Wearing white with their tuxedoes will not make your dress look dingy. But it will make their shirts look dingy.

I read specifically in a bridal book that the guys shirts must be the same color as the brides dress....wouldn`t the guide be right?
