My Whole Wedding For Under $1000

Of course I did everything myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Husband wore his suit i wore a second hand wedding dress for $100(it was lovely)
Plain white dyeable shoes from payless for $10
Crinoline made by local alteration person for $11

I made my own veil for $10
I made my own silk flower arrangement along with maid of honor`s for $30. Mine was stunning with pearls and ribbons and hers was simple and elegant
Bought rose boutoniers for men for $10 at grocery store.
Spent all day the day before preparing food myself for everyone. Total coast for food about $400 and lots of armwork
Bought bolt of material and cut as needed for table cloths cost 30 dollars for large bolt of plain but nice fabric.
Whole ceremony cost $75 to minister in old local pretty church. Let us use the seperate reception hall for free as long as we cleaned up.
$25 to church organist to play at wedding.
Church already had 2 huge flower arrangements at alter because they put them there every Sunday , so they told us they would just get them on Saturday since we wanted to have a ceremony Saturday.

Played music at reception using portable stereo and cd player which held 6 cds at a time.
Wedding cake was $150 at grocery store and we bought a second small plain cake for $15 in case we needed more since wedding cake we chose was on the smaller side(2 tiers).
Cake topper $10 at discount store but very pretty.

Extra stuff for reception like plates napkins and glassware was $75. We bought the nice heavy large designer napkins and table ware from Sam`s club along with drinkware and uteensils that are plastic but have that heavy crystal look.
Brought a huge punchbowl from home and filled with fruit and juices and floated sherbet in it. Used large coffee urn the church supplied and kept filled with coffee . Also served sodas but no alcohol.

That was my whole wedding and it really was quite decent and everyone had a real good time. No there was no fancy flowers everywhere but still was nice and my husband and I paid for it ourselves

I`m trying to do the same I don`t have $10,000 to spend in a wedding. Your wedding sounded very nice. It gives me courage to keep working hard to have a not very spencive wedding in december :)

Wow. I`m having that problem right now. I can`t seem to find a venue cheap enough. Our budget is $1000. I dont by any means have $10,000 to plan a wedding. Any pointers? I`m desperate. I`m having a really hard time.
