E-Loping
I was wondering what are the steps to take to e-lope? We don`t want a big wedding, just something for us. And we can`t find any info on e-loping. For example what to bring with us, liscense`s, birth certificates etc.. Please help!

You have to first decide where you are eloping to.Then you have to contact that State or town...whatever and see what their local laws are.My Mom and Step Dad got married about 2 years ago in Breckenridge Colorado during ski season. They contacted that locale and they were very gracious as to telling them exactly what they needed.

My fiance and I are planning to elope, and have discovered that what you need to bring with you really varies from place to place. If you`re staying in your home state, then a phone call to City Hall will answer all your questions. However, if you`re going out of state or out of the country, (as we are), then you really need to start doing some homework; I was shocked that some places require you to reside in the district you are eloping to for as much as 26 days! :o Again, for the most accurate information, call the town hall for detailed information. As fas as personal documentation, an original copy of your birth certificates, drivers` licences/state issued identication cards and/or passport will usually do it. Oh, and a copy of your medical exams and bloodwork results will also be a good thing to have, just in case. Hope that helps! Congratulations and Good Luck!

Joshua, you need to pick a city to get married in and then call the County Clerk`s Office of that city and ask when you need to get to get a marriage license. Each county has different requirments for a license.
Typically, the county office will need:
A certified copy of your and your fiance`s birth certificate
A driver`s license with you current address
Your social security number
To know where you will be married and by whom (most states require that the person marrying you be a resident of that particular state)
Keep in mind that there may be a waiting time to get the actual license. If there is a wait, it`s typically 5 days.
