I just picked up a bridesmaid`s dress there last week and was very unhappy with the results of the alterations. Among other things, there is a bubble of fabric at the bottom of the zipper which makes it appear as though I have a tail sprouting--I assure you that I do not. They indicated that "this happens" with certain dresses and there`s nothing that can be done about it. We bought our maid of honor`s dress there for our wedding last year without issue--but her alterations were done elsewhere. In the end they refunded part of my alteration fee, but I`m still left with a botched alteration. My advice--be careful.

Thanks Karen !!! The alterations are my biggest concern since I already bought my dress, so have all my bridesmaids, and I have now had 4 different sales girls since they have all been quitting!!!! Good luck with you wedding !!

I havent had problems in Pittsburgh but I have had nothing but problems in the Flint MI store. Not only have they lost our bridesmaid dresses twice, ruined our alterations, but then they are rude about things they have messed up!

I would get alterations done elsewhere. I had a horrible experience with one in Ohio, and have heard nothing but bad things about David`s. Get your alterations done by a professional. Good luck!

Unfortunately I don`t think there are many people who have had a good experience at any David`s. I remember reading several messages on this site about the Pittsburg store and they were not positive.

It`s really too bad David`s does this since a wedding is a pretty important event in someone`s lives and this store really messes things up for people. Jennifer, if you haven`t yet purchased anything at David`s thank your lucky stars. If you have, tell the associates that your wedding date changed and try to get what you ordered in early - really push them to get your items and then run. Take your dress or whatever you ordered and have someone else do the alterations.

A david`s in CT just WRECKED my wedding gown - a floor-length lace gown that only needed a simple hem, and the woman slashed off 4-5 inches too many (leaving the lining fabric hanging down much lower than the lace, and the front of the gown way off the floor); my wedding is in a month and I have no idea what I`m going to do now....I wish I`d known of all the David`s problems before!! (If anyone has any suggestions for what I can do to fix this, please let me know; I am frantic!)
