Two Maid Of Honors
Is it uncommon to have two maid of honors? Would the groom have to have two best men? How would the arranging at the alter work?

I am no expert, but I have heard of people having 2 maid`s of honor. Say that they have 2 sisters, or 2 best friends, or they just can`t decide. The standing situation at the altar can get a little sticky, but ultimately I`d say use your best judgement. But no, your groom doesn`t have to have 2 best men, let the girlsescort themselves down the aisle, or have them walk in single file. There doesn`t need to be equal nubers to have everything work out in the end.

Hi im getting married on August 7 2004. I have two best friends,my fiance also has two best friends. It was his idea to have two best men so I decided to have two maid of honors. It was a great idea, and im glad we chose to do it this way. If my one maid of honor is busy,I have another one to help.

It`s fine to have two. I`ve seen it lots of times, plus I`m having two also. Just make sure you write it on the program correctly. It`s not maid of honors. It`s maids of honor. Not trying to insult anyone, it`s just that my mother laughed at me for saying maid of honors so now I get the chance to laugh at someone else! LOL!
(just teasing y`all. I hope you know that>

Two maids of honor is great when you have two best friends.. I`m the second maid of honor in my friends wedding and one of us will hold the bouquet while the other holds the rings.. And when one is busy the other one takes over.. I love it!!!!!!!

Emily,
I attended a wedding yesterday afternoon and the bride had two MOH`s. However, in the program she listed these two women as "Women of Honor". It was neat that she didn`t call them Maid or Matron -- but Women of Honor.
Just an idea for you to think about. Also, just as an FYI I think it`s fantastic that you are having two "Women of Honor" as it`s great that you have people in your life so important that you want both to be honored.
Good luck!

Two Maids of Honor is fine. I`ve been to several weddings with two and everything seemed perfect.

Just a little note....
If your maid of honor or your maids of honor are married they become your matron of honor.
In instances where one is married and the other is not, you simply have a matron of honor and a maid of honor.

I`m actually getting married in August `04, and I selected my sister and a very close cousin to be my MOH`s. I read Kay`s response of "Women of Honor" and that`s a Fabulous idea. Thanks
