HELP! I`M GONNA CRY
Does anyone have any suggestions for not crying at your own wedding? I just know I`m going to cry which wouldn`t be such a big deal but my ENTIRE face gets all red and puffy whenever I cry and I can`t get rid of the redness for a long time. I`m so scared that I`m going to cry, even a little and be the ugliest looking bride afterwards.

Um, what to say to make you not cry, its a toughy. Try to not have music that really pulls at your heart strings, have something that you know you will be able to listen to without bursting into tears. Try and stay focussed, i know this will be hard but given your situation try and not get to wrapped up in the moment, think of the after party of maybe even the wedding night lol. Best of luck, and if you do happen to cry then so be it, its your day and im affraid if us woman feel the need for a tear or two, there is not really much we can do about it. Cheers

Oh I know that I am going to cry. We have waited until my daughter has graduated college to get married, and we will finally get our day! I have not even thought about the red and puffy eyes and face that come with it.

IT IS YOUR DAUGHTER`S WEDDING SO CRY. You are expected to cry. You deserve to cry. Pack a compact and use waterproof mascara.

Something that helps me is if you keep a DAMP....not soaking wet, cloth with you, then dab under your eyes a bit, it really helps get rid of the puffyness real quick...at least for me. But overall, it`s okay to cry, I know I will be. So enjoy, as long as they are tears of happiness, I don`t think anyone will care....it`s actually kinda sweet.

Katia,
I`m going to give you some really weird advice, but it works! Now, don`t think I`m too strange for saying this (keep in mind that I am Registered Nurse by background so this sort of thing isn`t so weird for me).
Have some Hemorrhoid cream with you (I told you it was weird) and put it on your face after the ceremony and then re-fix your make-up. Hemorrhoid cream works by reducing swelling -- it works on faces too. Try not to think of it as butt-cream -- it honestly is just like any other kind of lotion or cream -- there is nothing weird in it.
I know of several other nurse brides that have done this and they were SO glad. Most people`s faces do get red and puffy whenever they cry and often takes hours, or even an entire day, for all the swelling to go away. Now, you don`t want to be alll puffy at your reception -- so, give it a try - it honestly works.
Good luck!

Kay, that was hilarious and now that I think about it I have heard something about pageant contestants wearing hemorroid cream, but I don`t know for what. If all else fails and I feel the tears coming on, I could always remember the fact that I have preperation-H on my face and burst out laughing :o). Thanks all for your comments.

Just think of Barney the purple dinosaur nude making out with Santa Claus... One of my more wry friends told me about that, and I guess it worked really well for her.

Isn`t Barney always nude anyway?
