I wish my mom would let me start planning now!!!!!

I am getting ready for my daughters sweet 15 and I am almost there with all the preparations but, i need to know if someone can e-mail a picture of a sweet 15 decoration at the hall. I am clueless of how to decorate & what to use. Hello, Im also having a sweet 15 (next year) my theme is faries. The color is dark purple for the girls and black for the guys. Then Im going to have a white dress and my partner is going to have a white sute. Is that a good idea? The hall is going to be big, we are inviting about 300 people. Im having my S16 in September, Its going to be a 1920`s theme "Gangster,Mafia" type. Im going to have a white dress, my partner is going to have a white zoot suit. Its going to be black and white colors with itlian food but I have no idea how to decorate my hall. Any ideas would be great along with what my 7 girls and guys would wear without bein expensive.

Well first of all lets start with Ashley. For a fairy theme I don`t have a theme song for you. But what do you mean by theme song? In a Quince you usually do a waltz, salsa, merengue, or even a rumba. There is no "theme" song. Unless you been the song that they will play for you when you enter? Tell me exactly what your talking about and then I can help. Once you have your theme (fairies) you feed off that. Pick your colors and then decorations will be easy. Find Fabrics light in colors and with fairies on them. You should were a light pink or even a dim yellow. Your dress should be bright because you are the "star" of the party (guest). And when looking for your partners you should find boys and girls that you have spent most of your life with. Because you wanna celebrate with your closest friends the ones that mean the most to you.

Okay now Brianna! I love your theme. And I wouldn`t normally pick white for the dress but or this theme its okay. I don`t know exactly what your theme is. Wouldn`t 1920`s be dressed very comservative? If thats the theme your going for, the girls should were old looking dresses with buns. I soppose? Give me more details and then I can help. It sounds good so far!

Chi Chi- You need to find a theme then work around that. Try to find a theme you like and Ill help you from there.

Daisy- Well dont wear white....save it for your wedding. Also try to make a big entrance. The place has to be huge so you can have most of the room for dancing. Also have fun dancing in which the audience can enjoy. Other then that give me a theme and ill give you ideas.

Cassie: You need to start planning a Quince AT LEAST one year ahead. I would recommend for you to start planning your Quince two years ahead. This is my advice....The Cinderella theme is great.....but everyone uses it. You should try to be different and creative, and come up with something your own. You DON`T HAVE TO do the church thing unless you want to. You can do something with your family religiously at home if you want. Also I recommend you to book your reservation 6 months to a year in advanced. You always want to be on the safe side. If you have any more questions just write back.

Mayden: A Sweet 16 is different from a Quince. Its much smaller and you don`t need 14 couples to dance for you. If your really girly you could do a "think pink" theme or go to a tropical/ carribean theme. Who ever YOU are you need to show in your decorations and all the choices you make in putting your Sweet 16 together. That day is all about YOU. So make it about YOU. How is your personality? Are you outgoing fun and full of energy? If so.... Pick a theme with lots of colors and have a lot of music playing. Are you quiet? Shy? Have a Garden them with lots of flowers and tropical music playing in the back ground. There are many ways you can go but remember it all about YOU. Laura: I wouldn`t go for the color white for your dress. Save it for you wedding day. I am going for a hot pink so you should choose light pink. But remmember this day is about YOU so make your own decision. Write back.

My mom wanted me to have a white dress and I wanted a purple one. So u know what we did? I just bought a dress that had both. My dress is all white with purple flowers and purple gloves. Since my dress has purple all my damas are going to have purple dresses and the theme of my party is white and purple. So if u want pink and ur mom white go for both. You don`t have to wait until marriage to wear white. Cuz in the mexican tradition ur supposed to wear white when u get babtized, do ur first communion, ur sweet 15 and when u get married. So it will be great. My party in on October 2, 2004 so after the party I`ll email u pictures so u can see. OK write back.

That is very good advice you gave to Laura. I like the idea putting the two colors on the dresses. But Quince is not a Mexican tradition. It is a Cuban one so the Mexican`s changed things. That is not how its orginially done. I don`t want to argue because I like your idea to.
