Hi, Amy....I am getting married on Valetines Day Feb 14 in Nassau...I am getting married at Breezes Resort - on the beach - but I`m not going on a cruise, we are flying there. I can`t imagine why they are saying you can`t get married...other than maybe it`s because you have to be in Nassau 48 hours prior to the wedding date. That is the only reason I can think of. Optaining a marriage license there is relatively simple, but you must be there 48 prior. Hope this helps you some. If you have any more questions, please feel free to email me @ heyuitisonlyme@comcast.net and I`ll help any way I can.

Good luck!!

Hello, I am planning my wedding in Nassau for June 2004 and the only reason why it would not be legal for you to go there is indead the residency requirements. It is however only a 24 hours wait. I am arriving on a Thursday and getting my license on Friday and getting married on Saturday. That is the recommended way to go about getting married there. Good luck in your planning.

You must reside there for a min of 24 hrs before you can apply for your licence.....so technically you need to be there the day before you apply for your license (just as the post above isdoing). You cannot get married the same day you apply for your licence.....cannot be sooner than the following day. So, therefore, you must be on the island nearly 2 days before the wedding!!!!!!!!!!

Have you thought about marrying on the cruise? My fiance and I are going on a cruise next month and I know that they offer wedding packages aboard the cruise.....Im sure it could still be done at sunset and might give you a nice option.
