Am I Doing The Right Thing?

Im marrying an older man. Im 26 and he`s 41 and my mother doesnt agree with my decision. This man does EVERYTHING for me n my 3 kids n sees no one but me in his eyes. When i was planning my wedding, she didnt even wanna help me with arrangements, even said she wasnt coming. I was getting frustrated being this is my first marriage n had no direction, so i decided to do the justice of the peace ceremony next month in July, and she was kinda upset because I didnt come to her n tell her. Am I wronge?
