Butterfly Theme Ideas Needed
I absolutely love the idea of a butterfly theme for my wedding. I am having my ceremony and reception in an indoor garden:
I would like to incorporate live butterflies into my centerpieces. I do have a few ideas on how to make it work without harming the little guys. Does anyone know how I can get live butterflies for my special day? I did hear that they can be ordered online. Has anyone had experience with this and would like to share?
Any ideas would be much appreciated! Especially on decorations, cake ideas and invitations.

I was thinking about a live butterfly release for my wedding until I read responses on a message board (Theknot.com I think, can`t remember). Every response regarding butterflies (and there were many) were negative. Apparently very few butterflies live long enough to make it through the wedding and the few that do simply cling to the package once they are released, rather than fly. Many of the responses expressed disgust or horror at the sight of dead butterflies littering the ground.
You can find very beautiful silk butterflies at places like Hobby Lobby that would look nice attached to centerpieces.

About the butterfly releases, i have been to 2 weddings that had it, and it was unbelievable. So beautiful, a couple of the butterflies landed on the brides bouquet and the photographer snapped a pic. Everyone was raving about it. Im going to do it at my wedding.
Why would people be desgusted if a couple died they are beautiful and all, but lets remember they are just bugs.
I love animals and all but its not like a butterfly has a long life span anyways.
I think u should use them at your wedding.
