Nighttime Beach Party

I`m turening 16 in 2 months and i thought as a party i could throw a big beach bash at night. I want to have a big table with all kinds of food and volleyball and limbo and swimming and all that kind of stuff, but i really like the idea of having it at night without all the heat and crowds of people. The only thing i need help with is the lighting. Once it gets dark, people are goingto need some type of light source, because i want the party to go on late into the night, but i just dont know what to use. At first i thought like a campfire, and people could make s`mores but i doubt the city would allow that. So twinkle lights? lanterns? any suggestions would help!
