Celestial Theme
I am having a celestial wedding in May 2004 and have done a lot of things. For the reception I am cutting stars out of cardboard and wrapping them with aluminum foil and hanging them from the ceiling, it is dark so they will just shine and you wont be able to tell. I also bought really inexpensive 3D star ornaments and I am going to hang them on the edge of tables and in my pew bows at the ceremony. I am going to put ribbon on them with our names so that people can take them as favors and hang them on their tree the following christmas.
At the middle of our dance floor we are going to hang a huge clear balloon from the ceiling with a bunch of small blue balloons inside so that it looks like a full moon. We are also going to hang the cardboard stars and some balloons with streamers around the clear balloon because during the grand march the clear balloon will be popped and the small blue balloons will fall on us and the stars and streams will hang by themselves, it is very inexpensive but you will need a rental place to put it together or it will take you FOREVER to do yourself.
We are hanging christmas lights wrapped in white tulle from each corner of the room to the center where the moon balloon will be.
The centerpieces are very hard to explain but very neat. We are taking shiny navy tissue paper and clear tissue paper with silver stars on it and wrapping it around a small plastic cup so that it frills out and then star sticks stick out of the top of it. Sorry it is very hard to explain. It only cost $2.50 a piece to make.

Hi, My niece is having a celestial theme for here QuinceaƱera....and we are stumped on centerpieces..I know for the main table, we are having a big centerpiece with lots of babybreath and greenery and white roses with one moon balloon and a few star balloons sticking out. BUT for the rest of the tables we were hoping to make something a little cheaper. If you have time, could you send a picture of the centerpieces..it would be greatly appreciated.Email me at Dreamer6996@aol.com. Thank you soo much! Also if you have any other decorating ideas please share. Thanks again.

I don`t mean to be rude, but I`m going to tell you like it is: nobody thinks that cardboard decorations look nice. Trust me sister, leave the cut outs to the kiddies and save up for something less do-it-yourself. You`ll be glad you did.

This is so cool. I am getting married in Septembr of 2005 and my theme is sun, moon, and stars. I thought I was the only person in the world that was unique enought to go with a themed wedding. Most people give my wierd looks and remarks but I am so excitied about it. I am a little worried about centerpeices for the reception. I want something unique but elegant. I would love to see what your pices looked like. I don`t want to steal your idea but was interested to see what it looked like. If anyone else has some cool ideas that I could build from please let me know .
