Jack And Jill

We just threw a J&J in March `09. The couple wanted to have a joined party. We did $20 a ticket, we supplied food, soda and music. We were racking our brains for some kind of decor theme and went with luau because they were going to Jamica for a honeymoon. So if you decide that, hit up OrentialTrading.com they have decent stuff for good prices, especially the beach background banner we got with their names on it. We also did a basket raffle, there were booze baskets, coffees baskets, I made a jello shot kit, there was a lottery tree, lots of good stuff and we raised about 2,000 for the couple.
I know some people think it`s insane and not proper to have this type of thing, but it is very helpful for the soon-to-be-wed couple that may be a lil strapped for money, and paying for their wedding. If you`re confortable throwing a party like this, I would do it. It was so much fun to have everyone together, we had lots of people who didn`t make it on the final list and were happy that they had a chance to be with the couple since their families are HUGE not all the friends could come to the wedding. None of our guests thought it was too much, adn you don`t have to worry about what your guy is out doing for a bachlor party because he`ll be with you. (but if you`re worried about that I guess maybe you should be thinking twice ha ha)
I hope this helps someone out, and whenever I finally get married (I`ve been engaged for about 4 yrs now not in a rush to stress!!) I hope they do this for me and my fiance.
