Displaying Seating Cards

Does anyone have any ideas of unique ways to display seating cards. I`m getting married this October. My seating cards are flat, they don`t fold.

I have seen a couple of things!

As for your flat seating cards, I have seen people cut two slits in them (one on each side) and then run ribbon through them (once they are all cut and arranged and the talbe) and the ribbon hangs off the side of the table. You can run the ribbon either horizontally or vertically. The catch is that you have to make sure you are using a translucent ribbon so that your guests can still see their names. This too is a good way to make sure that the cards are not moving all over the place creating a disorganized and messy look.

Another thing I have come across (and plan to use myself!) is a seating chart. I found a company on the internet that will make you a seating chart that is either 16x20 or something else that is even bigger!! All you have to do is choose your text style, the design you want, and send them your seating chart (they will even arrange by table number of alphabetically)!!! Then they will send you a proof so that you can see what it will look like and you can make changes and most of all check for the correct spelling of your guests names!!!! When I get mine I am going to have it posted on foam borad and display it on an easel right by the door to the ballroom. I liked this idea because then I don`t have to worry about 130+ little place cards, how to arrange them, and how to keep them looking good. The costs are pretty comparable too!!!!

The wesite is: documentsanddesigns.com/index.htm
That is their homepage. You are looking for seating charts which is the 3rd link on the left hand side. Hope this helps!

We are stringing our flat cards on some brown packing string with mini clothes hooks. It looks really cute, and to gussy it up, you could string it on ribbon or decorate the clothes hooks by glueing on seashells, butterflies (fake ones), flowers, whatever you want.
