Depo Shot

I have been on the depo shot for about 2 years now. I like it. I never have my peroid, (ok, maybe i hvae it like 4 times a year for a day and a half, and thats only spotting). My problem is that i am worried that this is not good for me. I am 17 years old and people tell me that i should be having my period. Can somebody help me. I would like to know if this could cause any long term problums for me... Thanks so much, Danielle

It is quite normal for your periods to pretty much stop when you have been on depo for a while. I wouldn`t worry too much about it. The best way to get info on possible side effects is to ask your gyn, they are pretty on top of information.

Danielle, I have also been on the shot for a while and people have the same reaction with me. It is normal for people to say that you are suppost to have your period. I brought it up to my dr. And he said that not menstruating was fine.
