Rocker Party?

That`s a great idea! It could make your party really unique. But I have one big conern: how big is your party going to be, and how big is the room/place you are having the party?

If your party will be at your house, or in a small space, a live band could be EXTREMELY loud. Do you think you will be able to hear your friends, or will they have to scream over the music to talk to you? Do you have pesky neighbors that will complain (most towns have laws about noise levels & your parents could be fined big time - be sure to check that out first!)

If the live noise level is not going to be a problem, go for it! Just make sure you discuss equipment needs with your band (like will they supply amps, cables, speakers, etc? Do they need mics?) Lastly, if they are an "original" band...make sure that most of your guests will enjoy the type of music they play. (For instance...everyone might not like a death metal band, and that could totally kill your party).

Also, have a backup plan for music & entertainment if your band doesn`t don`t show up (Ipod playlist?). Plus you`ll want music ready anyway so you won`t have that awkward silence in between sets...and in case some cute boy wants to dance :-)
