Cash For Wedding Gift

My sons and I are going to a friend`s sons wedding. I plan to give money for my sons to give and for my husband and I to give. What would be a proper amount for each of us? I have known the groom`s mother for over 20 yrs.

I would give $200, but I live in NYC and that`s what the average wedding gift is here and in bigger cities. Small town maybe it`s more like $50-$100. But use it as a guideline and not a rule. It`s not mandatory to give any specific amount. Give what you can afford! If it comes from your heart it doesn`t matter how big or small the amount.
