Gift For Groom/Fiance?

Im not sure what to do here... I have no idea what to get my Fiance as a gift.. I have a thought in mind, but sooo uncertain if he will like because it is what I plan on getting my father..
Which is a Personalized Pocket watch. My fathers watch will have his name on it. .BUT on my Fiaces I want it to have the wedding date and our names on it.. Does that sound appropriate for him to keep and use daily? OR does it sound tacky?
