John Deere Wedding
Hi :)
My fiancee` and I are also planning our John Deere Wedding for July 4th, 2009. I am having the bridesmaids wear dresses from davids bridal in the color canary..which is yellow. The groomsman are wearing yellow wrangler shirts and blue wranglers. The flowers are going to be yellow and white roses with greenery and babysbreath as fillers, and jd green ribbon wrapped around the stems and tractor charms dangling from the ribbon. We are having cd`s as favors, and the cover of the cd will be a pic of us sitting on his 1968 JD 2510 tractor that he has restored. The tractor will also be at the wedding. We are using hay bales for seating at the ceremony, and building tables out of hay bales for the reception. The caterer is doing bbq tri tip as the main dish along with many side dishes like salads and fruits and breads and veggies. The centerpieces will be a bowl of yellow and green floating heart candles which i had made in the correct colors, along with 2 mason jars filled with white and yellow roses and ribbon tied in a bow. The what would normally be an alter for our ceremony, is actually going to be 2 hay wagons parked back to back which we`ll stand in front of during the ceremony, with a jd tractor on each wagon. We are using an old john deere seeder to hold sodas/water, filling it with ice to keep drinks cold. Also using a mini hay wagon for the guest book and favors to sit on. Our wedding is actually taking place on an old dairy farm, so we are using the covered feedlot to put the food in, as well as the dj. We have bubbles with our names printed on them, and tied yellow and green ribbon in bows around the lid. I also bought john deere fabric and made my ring pillow and filled the flower girl basket with it and used a fluffy white ribbon around the edges, and raffia around the basket handle. I made 18"x18" squares of this fabric to set the candle bowls on for each guest table. Our cake topper is of a mini cowboy groom and bride, and we are placing a mini hay bale and jd tractor on the top of cake, as well as white and yellow roses in between. Our cake server/knife is john deere, as well as my garters, our guest book and pen, balloons, and so many other things. I got alot of things on ebay, and they have god prices too :) Also, try green fun store.com, where you can get stickers, balloons and rivets that are jd. Colorado Carla has white baloons that i ordered, that have a tractor that says just married...soo cute i ordered them and they are adorable. There are so many fun things you can do with a john deere wedding. Good luck to you :)
