Washington, DC Wedding

I am trying to plan a wedding on a $3500 to 4000 budget in DC for about 35-50 people. I am looking for some type of cermony/reception package I want to do as little as possible. I am getting married in September/October 2004. I have not set an actual date because I haven`t had any luck finding packages on the internet. The wedding won`t be here for another year and I`m already stressing out!

Hi Yolanda!!
Do not get yourself stress now, you are going to get a lot worse, but just keep breathing 8-)
For my wedding I whent to a chapel that it had a hall already, so we did the church and the reception in the same place, you can get wit a publix, or a nice restaurant you may know and they can caterer. And during this year just try to do your flowers, invitations, party favors, etc, that is what I did, if you start now, when it is time for the wedding yo0u may have 3/4 done!!
The best place I found here for the cakes was SAMs, they were really tasty and very affortable.
Congratulations and good luck

Thanks Reme! I`m not a church person and feel kinda weird getting married in one. I tried to contact vendors but they want to know what day and without a location I can`t give them that info. I have decided to rent flowers but again without a specific day I`m kinda SOL. :)

Check out golf courses in your area. When doing (and i have done a lot - over 200 hours online) research for my wedding, i found that most golf courses (with clubhouses) offer wedding packages. Go online and look for golf courses or country clubs in your area and then email them (usually they give an adress of a director of events). Ask them to send you some info on rooms, food, rates, etc. Some country clubs even have event co-ordinators that work with or for you to create the ambience that you want for your special day. You could get married and have the ceremony all in the same place. Another suggestion would be to check out wineries and vinyards to see if the onsite facilities rent out for weddings too (some places also have a wedding co-ordinator). Good luck in whatever you decide

Check out: http://www.eastcoastyachtchartersinc.com/dandy.html
This is a beautiful yacht (Dandy and Nina`s Dandy) that offers services from $33-47.00 per person (including food), and it cruises past the monuments. Looks beautiful but too expensive for what I need.

I would like to thank everyone for their responses but last week my fiancé got laid off so we had to postpone our plans. But thank you all so much for giving me ideas that I WILL use in the future!

I`m trying to plan a wedding in DC for about 25,000. I would love to have the ceremony and reception at the same location or close by. Please help me with suggestions. How much should these cost? Would it be easier to do it at a hotel? Would it be more expensive to have 2 locations? Do you think wedding planners are worth the money?
