NAME CHANGE AFTER DIVORCE
Does anyone know the law or procedure about changing your name after a divorce. To make a long story short, I just found out that my fiance`s ex wife still goes by his last name. They have been divorced for over 3 years. This is not something that is automatically done when you get a divorce? I know I shouldn`t let it bother me, but still aggravating. Can she just keep his name forever? To make the situation even stranger she has a serous boyfriend with whom she has a kid. Does anyone know anything about this, or have any advice?
Thanks in advance.

I too am divorced and am not changing my surname for the time being. Why you ask? I don`t have a reason other than it`s been my surname for 25 years!!!! If I remarry, I would be honored to take my hubby`s surname (just old fashioned that way). To all you ladies upset about the ex still wanting to keep the same surname..... Get OVer it already!! Commitment comes from the heart ladies, not from a surname or for that matter that little ring on your finger. Good Lord - don`t stress over trivial things - worry about the stuff that really matters - not "if she has motives, or just wants to get your goat" - seems to me she has already done that LOL.
