Harley/Halloween Wedding

Trying to plan a harley/halloween wedding for October 04 and I am desperate for any ideas. Quote from future hubby "No skeleton or devil crap". I want the traditional church ceremony then a costume reception. Don`t really have a clue what to do or even where to begin. Any tips, ideas, etc would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!!!!!

Where will the reception be held? Decide on number of guests and then work from there. Have you thought about the wedding cake yet? I will give this some thought and contact you back I am studying to be a Wedding Coordinator and this would be a fun project. Where do you live?

Hi. I`m not trying to be rude or to rain on your parade, but I just thought I`d tell you of an experience and give you something to think about. About three years ago one of my good friends had her wedding near Halloween and decided to do a costume reception. It was a lot of fun, but several months later when the photographs were completed she and her husband were kind of disappointed. In just about every picture there are friends and family that they can`t figure out who they are because of the costumes!!! Many faces are covered with silly masks or costume makeup and as time goes by it`s difficult to remember who wore what. My friend said if they had it to do over again they would not have had a costume reception.

Whatever you decide to do I hope you have a great wedding, I`m just giving you something to think about so you don`t end up having regrets like my friend and her husband do. If the picture "problem" doesn`t bother you, then just disregard this post.

Good Luck!

Thanks for getting back to me Carol. I live in the Taunton, MA area. I was almost debating on maybe doing a Masquerade ball as an option. That way people would be more dressed up and stray away from goth stuff. I like it , but not for a wedding reception. Beside my inlaws would be beside themselves (very religious). Still haven`t figured out where I want to have it. My main goal is for people to be comfortable and have fun no matter what. I find this entire process extremely draining!!!!!!!!

Val - I thank you very much for you past experience. It is a good point that I really didn`t think of. My head is totally spinning and I am ready to just go to a jp and have a huge keg party pig roast right now - hee hee. Abbi - trying to steer clear of the goth thing due to inlaws and their religion. I am interested in the Harley gifts for the wedding party, so I will be contacting you via email sometime this week/weekend. Thanks again I really appreciate any and all ideas and of course past experience. =)

Carol you rock!!! I think you will be an AWESOME wedding coordinator. The peace sign sounds so cool. That is a great idea to do with the bar & shield. My girlfriend ended up doing cupcakes with a bar/shield plastic pieces. I will send you a picture if you want to see - maybe an idea for a future wedding you may work on - ya never know.
