Wedding Dress For Sale - Size 28-32 - Custom
This beautiful wedding dress comes in the form of a skirt and bodice, and was custom made to my own design earlier this year, costing £900.
The skirt is a full circle, in pale gold/caramel, and has a fully elasticated waist, which can be altered to be made bigger or smaller as required. There is one seam running down the back of the skirt, and it has a 2 inch hem of burgundy ribbon. The skirt has 2 layers of burgundy netting underneath and is lined in burgundy also.
The unstretched waist measurement of the skirt is 57" and fully stretched, it can go to 74". The length from waist to hem is 42". I am five foot two, and had to wear the skirt high up, under my bust, and it still skimmed the ground, so there is scope for a much taller bride to carry this dress off.
The bodice is made from burgundy velvet, in 11 panels, with the centre panel having been piped around the sweetheart neckline, with a small rose at each shoulder. It has 2 small bones in the front panel, and is brought to a point at the front, where it sits just below the waist. The back of the bodice is laced up with burgundy ribbon and is quite low down the back. The sleeves are made from burgundy crinkle chiffon with burgundy ribbon piped around the edges.
The measurements of the front of the bodice are :
Neckline to front point - 20" Shoulder seam to hem - 24" Width - 33"
The sleeves are 23" in length from the shoulder, and 18" from the underarm.
The measurements of the back of the bodice are :
Shoulder seam to hem - 24" Lacing area (top to bottom) - 17" Widest point of back - 35"
My dress size varies from size 28 to 32, and this dress has been made so that it can be altered to fit anyone between a size 26 to 34, possibly larger.
It was worn once only, for just over 6 hours. The bodice has been cleaned and the skirt pressed by a professional.
This dress is a one-off, as I designed it myself, hence the expense, and any bride buying it, would be getting a bargain.
When sold, the dress will be sent to the winning bidder, wrapped in tissue paper, and packed in bubble wrap in a flat box, and then wrapped in brown paper to ensure it arrives in perfect condition.
