I want to enjoy this day .. She doesn`t have any plans for clean up ( me ? again ) and for watching to be sure the food is hot and replenished ( um...me? ) We don`t have chairs or tables yet ...waiting to see if we can borrow from someone ..no answer yet. Still need plates , glasses, table cloths, cake, anything else you can think of... Anyone have help or ideas or things to borrow or sell ...oh....guests equal about 60 ...of which 4 are my family : (

A few ideas. See if some friends or family will help cook and serve. Even some teens might be interested in helping. If you can`t find anyone ot help serve, then switch off, each do an hour and the switch again.
Don`t do anything fancy. Easy is the name of the game. Pasta usually goes over well and is easy to fix.....or think of the holidays and food you serve then. How about fixing a turkey and stuffing and fix it a day or two ahead of time (cut the turkey and put it in gravy and then just warm it the day of). You can do mashed potatoes that way too.
You don`t have to have matching dinnerware, so borrow from everyone!
To decorate, you can use tulle, which is very cheap and makes everything pretty. You can also use any glass jars you have and just fill them with water and floating canles or submerge a flower in water in it. Tie some ribbon (things you can get at a dollar store...you can buy "bushes" of silk flowers too!).
You don`t mention what area you`re in so maybe that would help for people to help you.
Good luck!

Yes, where are you located? I did a beautiful wedding for my daughter in TWO weeks, and I figure I spent about $500. It was her second marriage, and they were gonna elope, but she didn`t have a church wedding the first time, and I knew that`s what she wanted, so I got to work! The groom`s mother took care of the cake and the photographer, but I have lots of ideas, even about THOSE! I`m pretty creative, and will be glad to help you if I can. I even went to the Dollar Tree and found some unbeatable bargains! They have a little wedding section! Also, Hobby Lobby is GREAT for good buys; especially if you can hit a half price sale, which we did! It was exhausting, but fun doing all this. My daughter`s friends put out all the decorations for the reception, and fixed the food tables. My daughter even got a lot of the food at Sam`s Club. We made EASY and DELICIOUS punch with lime sherbet (you can also use orange), mixed with ginger ale or 7-Up, in punch bowls. I could drink a huge glass full! We found her wedding dress at Dillards - 1/2 price! It was PERFECT! Of course, David`s Bridal advertises dresses from $99. Silk flowers everywhere. Candles everywhere. I made bookmarks and little boxes of Hershey`s Kisses and Hugs for favors. I can send you pictures of lots of this. Speaking of pictures - ask friends and family to bring their cameras and shoot, shoot, shoot! They can get some of the best candid shots you`ll love looking at for years to come! Of course, since I play the piano and sing, and have done hundreds of weddings, I was not only the Mother of the Bride, but the pianist and vocalist! Now, that saved money. But do you have any friends that can do that? I don`t know if I`ve forgotten anything, but I hope this helps. I know how you feel. But it CAN be done, and you will be so happpy after you do it!
