SCAM BEWARE: IDRISSI MEAGHER

Watch out! I posted the sale of a dress on this site and craigslist... I was contacted originally by a Lynn Graham, and then by Idirissi Meagher from the same email account. After a quick google search and a call to the postal address he provided, it was clear that he is working a scam.

I had a Ashley Minydzak contact me and then Idrissi Meagher a couple of days later. I also researched the names and found out they do this often.

Thank You...for posting their names, I wish more people would do this. I was almost scrammed on Craig’s list. I will be checking everyone out before I send anything out.

Yet another attempt to scam me... This time by Charles King. Again, a quick google search entering the name of the person plus "scam" revealed enough information to realize he was also trying to scam me. Ugh... Jerks!

I also had a wedding dress posted on craig`s list and was contacted, offering my original asking price plus $100 for shipping. I was then sent a check for $3,500 and was to sent the remaining money to "the bride to pay downpayments on things for her wedding".

Someone recently tried to scam me through ebay, saying they needed me to ship overseas but wasn`t sure how much shipping woud be , so they would send a money order for $3000,(for an item that cost $100). And after I took out what i needed I shoud Western Union the difference !!! These people must think we are idiots. It is best to accept a paypal payment. Even though there are fees involved, both seller and buyer are protected.

Be careful with paypal…I had one person( Robert Adams) asked for my paypal account number assuring me it was safe to give out then he said he could also send me a money order through merchant express . Along with that, he added some weird site which I think I caught a computer virus from when I check it.
I think posting all these incidents is very helpful to watch for these people because the are hitting the internet by the truckload. It’s hard to sell anything with out at least 4 or 5 scammers contacting you with the same song & dance or hard luck story (it is sicken).
I had one person say that they wanted to buy my wedding dress I advertised for her daughter to go to her brother’s wedding. Who in the hell buy’s a wedding dress to go to a relative wedding?

This kind of stuff wreck ruins it for the legitimate seller.

Thank you all for posting these! I just got an email last night about a dress I was trying to sell. Similar story:
Mine was from someone named Vivian Michael, they said that they wanted to buy it for their brother`s fiance overseas and would pay 300 extra for shipping and could do it through paypal, which i was told is the safest way to do it, but am now really nervous after reading all of your experiences....

Roberto Adams is in the process of trying to scam me. The key signs - didn`t ask any details about the dress, overpaid with a bank check and is asking for a MoneyGram to repay him the extra, called with a blocked number and a disturbing beligerent tone, hung up on me, continues to claim that his mover will pick up the dress but didn`t ask a single question about it. Google his name with "Roberto Adams Scam CraigsList" and you`ll find some articles. Wish me luck! My bank`s fraud department is working on it now...

GOOD!
I hope they get him and all the other scammers. I am so sick of these people. I never sold my dress and stop posting it for sale. It just a sad situation all around.
Good luck...let us know if the fraud dept got anywhere with it.

Bank quickly verified the scam - the check was fake and they rectified the matter. They said I did the most important things - 1) Didn`t spend the money until I had them verify the check. 2) Didn`t send him the dress. They also said that it was great that I didn`t give him any account info (duh), but I unfortunately now receive about 10 calls/emails daily from him. I opened an FBI report, but haven`t been contacted back, yet. I hope that I can help stop this one, but it seems that there are many. I`m going to re-post the dress but ONLY accept CASH in-person --- NO exceptions! Or I`ll sell it at a local reseller and lose a lot of money :o(
