It`s all in what you want! It would look very `today`. I too was going to get my bridal party to wear pant suits (that looked like skirts) but was told that it wouldn`t be the best thing for a formal wedding, and that was more for a less formal wedding. I`ve since decided to go with long dresses with full skirts cuz I kinda got caught up in a couple of themes..LoL

Tikiki,
What day is your wedding? That would be the only way that I could give you some good ideas. Pant suits are original ,but don`t be suprised if you have guests who start giggling when your Braidsmaids walk down the aile.

What ..are the guests 2 yrs old? I don`t think they would giggle at all. But it really depends on how formal your wedding is.
And hey..it`s your day. If that`s what you want and that is the look that you want then go for it. One thing though...try to imagine a picture of the whole wedding party in your head to imagine the flow/total look.

If anyone giggles at the bridesmaids they don`t belong in the church. That would be so rude and disrespectful of guests to do that. These people (the guests) are supposed to be the friends, families, and supporters of the bride and groom. If they are in the room and laugh at anything - then they aren`t really your friends and you shouldn`t worry about them.
If you want your bridesmaids to wear a burlap sack then go for it! I think the idea of a pantsuit is fantastic.
Good luck on your day!!

I know we all say our bridesmaids can wear their dress again, but really, we`re probably just trying to make them feel better about dropping all that money. The best thing about the pant suit idea is that they CAN wear it again.

The bride`s maids wearing pant suits is such a great idea! It`s very original, you must be a very smart lady to think of it! I don`t know where Laurie was coming from when she said that the guests would start giggling. Maybe that`s just an experience she had at her wedding, with the entire room giggling at her. Well, If you go with pant suits, they should probably be more femenine looking, which I`m sure you`ve planned on. It would be a neat idea to embroider rhinestone into the pants or something. I don`t know. Whatever you decide to do, I think it will turn out excellent! Best of luck on your big day Tikiki!

I think that`s a great idea! My sister is thinking of doing the same thing. This is her second marraige and it`s non-traditional so she want`s to be different and I think it makes a great statement that, women can do what we damn well please including having our bridesmaids in pants. As long as they don`t walk down the isle looking like their on their way to work or looking too much like the grooms men we`re OK. I can give you the same suggestions I gave to my sister. Make sure you pick a really nice and elegant material and try a suit with a wider leg and a lower cut front for the jacket, (no shirts under the jacket.) Maybe a nice chocker type neckalce and buetiful stud earings with up do`s. Also, think about getting the fancy type buttons for the front of the jacket and at the bottom of the sleeve. Pick soft colors, like ivory, lilac or pale yellow. I dont think black would work well at all. And make sure they have on really nice sling back and/or open toe shoes, no full shoe (in my opinion.) These are my suggestions but it`s your wedding so, do it the way you want to and forget what other people say, it`s your day!
