Help Me PLEASE!!!
My daughter is leaving for college, and I want to give her a party before she leaves to help with dorm items. I have no idea what theme or what to say on the invitations. I would like people to give her money, and I was thinking about a money tree but I have no idea how to word the invitation. She already made a gift registry at LNT, but how do I include that in the invitation? I already have a place booked and the guests will mainly be ex-teachers and family friends but keeping it to all-female. A mother- daughter tea was what I had in mind, although her best friend already did that and I want something different. ANY IDEAS WOULD HELP OUT, BUT BE QUICK I NEED INVITATIONS MAILED OUT BY THE END OF THIS WEEK OR MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK. THANK YOU!

Usually registry places have cards they give you that you can include in invitations - i wouldn`t mention giving money - most people know that is what college kids need most - they will either be considerate of that, but those who are comfortable with giving money will resort to the registry (just like in weddings) - have a back to school theme, naturally!!! put up pictures of stuff she did throughout grade school.....halloween parties, ballet recitals, girlscout cookies........put them everywhere - they will be great conversation pieces. Have each guest mail you or bring in a card with an funny story about her, the proudest moment, or a moment they shared with her and either allow them to read it as sort of a toast or read it yourself and see if your daughter can guess who it is from. Or go around with a video camera and tape record messages or memories from different people and play it at the party. Or take the old pics of her and turn them into a slide show and play it. Pass around a blank pretty journal and have everyone right good luck wishes and words of advice for her to treasure over the years. You can also personalize bingo cards or word searches pertaining to her for the crowd to play
