Backyard Wedding Reception Timeline

Please help.

We are having a backyard wedding and reception on Nov 1st. I need help with my wedding day timeline and etiquette. How do we handle the transition from ceremony to reception, when do we do the toasts, first dance, etc. We are having only one course and it is buffet style. The wedding is at 4:30. We are planning a cocktail hour from 3:30 to 4:30 while guests are arriving. What do you think about this idea since we are having the reception at the same place we did not think a cocktail hour between ceremony and reception was good timing.
