FairyTaleTheme/Young Couple/VERY-TIGHT-BUDGET
My fiance and I are looking at a fairytale/Cinderella type wedding theme. Its a wedding that I have wanted since I was very young I have had my dream dress drawn out on paper since I was about 10. Heres our problem... We are young and on a very, very tight budget. The guest list is only about 60 but thats pretty expensive for us. If you have any ideas on how to make this wedding cheaper please let us know. What things could we maybe make ourselves or ways to find things cheap. We already have my dress, well...almost. We have the women who is going to make the cake at a discount. She is a wonderful artist and a friend of my fiance`s mother. Other than that we really have no clue what were doing!!!! Please help

Hi, there!! Do you mind me asking where you live? That way I can get a better idea of the state or city. For example, do you know anyone with horses? You could ride in on a horse and meet your Prince! Put irridescent glitter around on the tables for romantic sparkle or floating candles with some flowers in a bowl for centerpieces. For me, "Fairy Tale" is lots of candles, flowers, lace, and tulle.
What I have been doing on a restricted budget is think, think, think!! "Who do I know that has this?" "Who do I know that used to do photography", etc.........OR when I`m out doing wedding stuff, IF I find something I totally love but can`t afford, I write down ALL the info. About it I can get, and then go and try to find it cheaper elsewhere or on the `net.
Good Luck!!! I`m sure whatever you do will be beautiful!!

Sweetly Unique offers fairytale candy bar wrappers that you may use over Nestle Crunch Bars. You can order the wrappers and wrap the bars for only $.75 each! That will make great favors for your guests. Not only that, with the wrappers personalized with your info, or thanks, it will be a great keep sake for scrapbooks!

Hey, Molly!! I checked out the Corpus Christi area on the `net and it sounds looks like you guys have alot of cool parks and some beaches. You could check within that specific city to see what the "laws" are about having a ceremony in any of those locations, and a fee, if any. For example, there is a beautiful gazebo up the street from our house and according to the city in which I live, the city NOR the police CAN NOT stop me from having a ceremony in a city park. The ONLY bad thing is the general public cruisin` around, BUT it`s FREE!!!! Also, for the reception, you can try calling places such as an F.O.P lodge,Eagles Club, a community center, BUT most of these places only supply the site not the food. And, hey, if family is willing to help prepare food for the ceremony, I say "go for it". That`s what family is for.........they love you and want YOU to have the best and to feel that they had a part in your big day!!! I hope that some of this is helpful to you.

Molly, I am doing some similar things. One great idea that I have come across is going to resale shops like Salvation Army to look for glass containers and candles. You can usually buy them for around 10 cents each or so. You can make floating candle centerpieces for your reception. You can usually find old used christmas lights at the resale shops too. White lights around things at an evening wedding can give a very romantic "fairy tale" effect. Having a friend take snap shots at your wedding (even if not a pro) and having them developed in black and white instead of color also comes out great. Reception food can be done by buying different cheeses and cutting them into squares with toothpicks in them. Also miniture sausages done the same way. Buy lots of fruit and put in large plastic platters that you can also find at resale shops. Buy large inexpensive melons, and cut them into slices so they consume more room and make for beautiful eye pieces... Also lots of grapes (they tend to be cheaper too) Make inexpensive chicken sandwiches and cut them into triangles and remove the crusts for a professional look. And as for "favors".... I opted not to have them. They usually just go home with your guests and collect dust, or get thrown away. Most of your guest probably won`t even notice if they are not there..... And it will save you a bundle. Have your bridesmaids buy their own dresses, and instead of having them carry a huge bouqet down the isle opt for one single long stem flower with a ribbon tied around it to match their dress. That has a very elegent appeal. Hope I have been of some help. The best of luck to you and your fiance!

HI! I am also a younger bride. Some ideas I have for you are to try dollar stores. Sometimes you can buy silk flowers there for really cheap. Also sometimes they carry candles or even the floating candles if your lucky! You can also find candle floral rings... Or other decorations like streamers or ribbion or even tuffle! It is worth a try.
Another great place to find deals is EBAY! You never know what you can find. There are a lot of cheap bridesmaid dresses, bouquets and even floral arrangments for you church or park. :) And a lot of sellers may even customize things for you! Like if you like a style of a bouquet on Ebay, you can email the seller and then bid on the bouquet set and after you win she or he can customize it to your colors!
:) Anyways, your wedding day is suppose to be how you dreamed it. NEVER let anything even prices get in your way. If you can dream it you can achieve it. Even if you have to make it yourself!
Try looking at craft stores. They often have tons of FREE handouts on how to make things for your wedding day!
Making your own ivities saves tons of money! :) And same with wedding favors. Have the bridesmaids help or your mom. ... That is what they are there for!
:) And most of all have fun with it! try not to get stressed out! Good luck sweetie! and may you have a wonderful wedding.

Molly,
I checked online and there are a couple of hobby lobby`s in you area. Check there website every week to look at their newspaper ad (www.hobbylobby.com) They always have their decorative glassware on sale for half off. I got glass jars for .34 a peice. Fill them with water and add a floating candle and it makes a nice table decorations and you probably won`t even have a buck in them. They also usually have their flowers on sale for half off and their baskets too. Just watch their sales closely you can find alot of different bargins.
